It Began in 1957
In April of 1956, Baptist Bible Fellowship missionary Bob Hughes arrived in the Philippines with a burden to reach Cebu with the gospel. On March 31, 1957, the first service of Bible Baptist Church was held — a small gathering of just fourteen souls.
God blessed the faithful, soul-winning ministry. The congregation outgrew building after building until the church purchased its present property at 55 Katipunan Street, where a large auditorium now seats thousands who gather to worship each Lord's Day.
Who We Are
Bible Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental Baptist church. We preach from the Authorized King James Version of the Bible, we believe in salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and we are devoted to carrying the gospel to Cebu and to the ends of the earth.
From its earliest days the church has been a sending church — training and supporting pastors, planting churches throughout the Philippines, and sending missionaries to the nations. That same heartbeat continues today through our schools, our ministries, and our people.
